readopts use of GX & B Series designations for
a small range of new products and a
new sales policy has been adopted solely for these particular models.
GX & B Series products will be
sold as direct competitors
to the plethora of imported loudspeaker marketed as 'professional'
products which are often anything-but when their long term use,
audio quality and reliability are put to the test.
Shermann
founder and chief designer Ken Hughes confirmed the launch of the
new range.
"We felt compelled to act after we'd received so many calls
and emails from folk who've bought this (allegedly) 'pro gear' then
found after just a few months of use that the stuff was literally
falling apart.
The majority of these imported boxes appear to be built to the very
limits of cheapness, any further cost cutting and you'd be lucky
to get any noise from them at all."
Servicing this stuff would appear to be another thorny issue said
Ken.
"Whilst many of these cheap boxes look quite pretty it's
the components, the actual working parts which prove problematic.
Getting spares for these things has also been a major bone of contention
and there's generally nothing we can do to assist even with our
huge pool of UK and International contacts."
"The new SHERMANN Audio GX & B Series products
have, as you'd expect, been designed to be compatible with existing
SHERMANN Audio gear.
We're not using any pressed steel chassis and the drive units all
come from industry standard names such as Precision Devices, B&C,
Fane, PHL and Beyma.
Apart from the occasional special offer there'll be no wild discounting
either as the price quoted will be the price you pay.
Although we don't sell through shops quite a few are actually using
Shermann in their own hire departments even though they're selling
the very stuff I've described above.
Naturally, the new models are ideal and a cost effective purchase
for this purpose."
Two
B Series bass drive models have already been introduced and
the sale of the first two B1500 boxes was confirmed within days
of release.
The feedback from the purchaser was as expected; "..... these
boxes really are in a different league."
New
Gx top boxes which is also capable of full range duty will
be launched from January 2006.
